Do you remember when I said I was exfoliating and all this toilet stuff was coming up? Yeah. Do you remember me talking about some vague piece of art on a black background with a woman with funeral flowers in her hair?
I wish I could say that renewal was this incredible and exhilarating joy ride. While I think it can be fun and certainly renewing to learn more about things through a different and fresh perspective, it isn’t always an easy digest. I need a lifetime supply in Rolaids.
It’s raining out. I love days like this even though they often feel so gloomy. For me, they represent a potential pajama day and a time of soothing hibernation.

The Twisted Serpent has a point of inspiration for me on my journey. It’s in the bible. Take a deep breath. Nos. 21 in the Old Testament has this scene where all these Israelite’s are doing some serious grumbling.
Needless to say, I never made it to Walgreens though I really needed an extra jar of Rolaids for what I knew was coming. I needed to be prepared…. but a bunny crossed the road and I said “squirrel!”
Do you see that Costco sized bottle of Rolaids? Yep, I have that because reading a few pages of Milligan’s Ultimate Guide upsets my stomach. Let’s talk about inherent characteristics for a second of more.
In my last post I began to cover some of the “in general” struggles I have with Mr. Milligan’s dream guide. This was more to being deconstructing the book to show how there is a nature deficit leaving someone like myself susceptible to further fear and disembodiment.
Before I dive into the nature deficit pieces from this book, I wanted to take an opportunity to address some larger issues about the book in general. My main focus in deconstruction some of this book is to tackle how ignorance can perpetuate nature disconnect and human disembodiment.
In the beginning there was a serpent. It’s true, right? Where does your mind go when you read that line? Well, if you’re someone like me, it’s probably Genesis 3 from a collection of writings known as the bible.
What’s magic paint? There is no easy answer that can fit into a small, shallow puddle of internet blogging. It’s complicated, nuanced, broad, vague, mysterious and nefarious. Why?
Like all beings on the planet, we’re all on some kind of journey. Of course, how I express that is uniquely human. One simply doesn’t see a pride of lions sitting around looking at their claws and meditating on the contours of their existence.
